Winters Barns

Situated just outside Canterbury in the gorgeous countryside, these wonderful barns are the perfect romantic setting to celebrate your love story.

A country barn wedding exudes a unique charm that’s hard to beat. Winters Barns stands out for its beauty, warmth, and authentic Kentish appeal. Featuring lovely gardens and a breathtaking interior, Winters Barns offers a delightful mix of classic and contemporary – a private historical venue rich in heritage, yet conveniently close to the modern conveniences of Canterbury, all reserved just for you on your special day.

Facilities

Ceremony

Winters Barns has two stunning locations for your ceremony. Firstly, outside you can take the paved walk from the top of the garden through the oak arch. Up to 150 guests are seated on the lawns as you say your ‘I do’s’ under the roof of the Cart Barn. Bursting with charm and lined with fairy light curtains, it really is the definition of rustic romance.

Alternatively, marrying inside the Ceremony Barn. From the original 16th century beams to the polished oak floorboards. This traditional barn has a luxury feel to it. Marry on stage under the fairy light canopy with up to 150 of your loved ones below. It is simply magical.

If you wish to have a church ceremony there are two local churches, in Nackington and Lower Hardres.

Reception

The defining feature of these marvellous barns is their vaulted, beamed ceilings. Dating back to 1660, these original wooden features create a warm and romantic atmosphere reminiscent of folk and fairy-tales. The space is also flexible and can be decorated to fit your wedding theme. The wedding breakfast is served in the most historic part of the barn. Here up to 150 can sit comfortably in a beautiful original oak framed 1660 barn, which is light and airy and a beautiful space day and night.

Because the barns are linked together, the venue has a spacious and open-plan feel. Guests can move between the 1660 barn, bar area and ceremony room easily without venturing outside. Or they can stay at their table throughout and still feel part of the wedding. All the amenities are on the ground floor so nobody has to move far.

Catering

The recommended catering company aim to wow you and your guests with their exceptional food and top-notch service. The wedding menus are provided by Scott Anderson Ltd of Brogdale, Faversham. They provide free consultations and complimentary tastings at either Winters Barns or at Brogdale.

Accommodation

When your day is over and you have waved goodbye to your friends and family, you can unwind and take your time leaving the venue. The happy couple can stroll over to their cottage on the estate – a comfortable and romantic haven where you can unwind and reflect on your special day. Others can walk to the on site accommodation, which is booked by the wedding couple, in the Hop Picking Huts (two double rooms with ensuite) or the Farmhouse (six double rooms with ensuite) or they can take a short five-minute cab ride to the many Canterbury hotels.
