The Wood Norton exudes class, with its original 1897 features prominent for all to see, but with a full renovation, the house and grounds are vibrant, contemporary and elegant. Civil ceremonies can be held in the glass fronted Orangery or the Pavilion on the lawns. The Wood Norton was built by exiled French royalty, Duc D'Orléans in 1897. The designs from this era are prevalent throughout the house, from the oak panelling, grand carvings, impressive terrace, and Renaissance gardens, to the multifaceted exterior of the house.
In 1939 the estate was taken over by the BBC and quickly became one of the largest broadcasting studios in Europe.
Retaining its original 19th century features, the Fleur de Lys is wood panelled offering a beautiful traditional backdrop to your Ceremony or Wedding Breakfast. Rich tones help to create a romantic atmosphere.

There are 30 unique and beautifully decorated bedrooms at The Wood Norton which are offered at a special wedding rate for your guests. The bride and groom can benefit from an Executive Double room to celebrate your first night as newlyweds.

Georgie - We had an amazing day celebrating our wedding, you and the whole team at the Wood Norton deserve real credit for what you all did. The whole day was seem-less and perfect, Hannah was a very happy and excited girl indeed. The only fault we had was it went too quickly! Literally a blur. I just wanted to bring to your attention a member of your staff who I think deserves special recognition. I knew when we first found the Wood Norton it would be the perfect setting for our wedding on 29/06/2019 and although Sandy and Amy had sadly left (who were both excellent too), when I met Georgie I knew we were in extremely safe hands. Georgie has truly been a perfect wedding coordinator and everything before, during and after our big day has been exceptional. I have worked for a number of years in the hotel industry and know just how very hard it can be to find staff exceptional staff. All of the staff have been amazing and worked as part of a team to go far above and beyond my expectations (including the kitchen staff who assisted with dietary requirements etc.).

I cannot thank the Wood Norton for our flawless, amazing wedding reception. The venue is stunning. We celebrated our wedding day at the Wood Norton and it was a truly perfect day. Amy was fanatstic with the help of planning things and nothing was too much. We returned for our 1st yr wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal. The staff were great and very efficient. Our room was very welcoming and comfortable. Was great to come back and would highly recommend.
