History

This medieval building is surrounded in Rochford's rich history. The Old House's name stems from its reputation as one of England's oldest buildings. The venue dates all the way back to 1270 and its main hall was built more than 700 years ago.

Its large and intricate frames indicate the height of medieval luxury. The Old Hall was the first part to be built, with extensions coming at later dates which are known as the bridal suite and reception room.

You will see throughout the building lots of original features which creates a feeling of going back in time. By deciding to host your wedding at The Old House, you will also become part of this buildings iconic history.

At over 700 years old, the Old Hall contains original features such as the alter-inspired fireplace and hammer beam ceiling. The exposed brick work and beams create a romantic atmosphere for your wedding ceremony.

These cosy reception rooms are packed full of rustic character. They're the perfect setting for a post-wedding drinks reception amongst your nearest and dearest. Ideal in space, none of your guests will get lost in this intimate room.

Accommodation

The Old House has two beautiful bridal prep rooms where the bride and her party can get ready and relax before her special moment. They offer a serene and calm landscape for the bride and her bridal party to calm their excited nerves.

Wedding Planner

The Old House understand how stressful the planning process of a wedding can be, particularly if you are having your celebrations in different locations. They assign you a dedicated wedding coordinator to take care of all the details for you. They will be with you throughout the day to ensure it unfolds without a hitch.
