The Horse Drawn Carriage Company's attention to detail even extends to providing a complimentary bottle of Champagne with two glasses and a rug to snuggle under in the cooler months.

About

The Horse Drawn Carriage Company is one of the few carriage companies in the UK that holds The British Driving Society level 4 commercial qualification. Their horses have been working commercially for their whole lives and the company are WATO (Welfare of Animals in Transport Order) certified.

They pride themselves on the traditional country experience that they offer to couples wanting a more unusual mode of transport. You are welcome to visit the horses at the stables, and can arrange this by getting in touch using the contact buttons on this listing.

The Horses

Tommie and Charlie are two gorgeous white Welsh Cob X Percheron horses. As half-brothers they look almost identical, standing at over 15 hands tall and with gorgeous blond manes. They both have 8 years' experience as a commercial carriage horses.

The two have their own unique personalities: Tommie loves to pose for the camera and cheeky Charlie loves to show off!

The Carriages

The Horse Drawn Carriage Company own two carriages for you to choose from. The traditional barouche carriage offers an elegant and customary ride, whereas the racing green country waggonette is ideal for your classic country wedding.

Traditional Barouche Carriage

An original barouche carriage dating back to the 1880s, this option offers seating for four, arranged vis-à-vis so that the sitters face each other. The carriage is painted a striking gloss black with sophisticated gold trim and brass lanterns. The light grey seating was very fashionable in the 19th century, and there is even a soft half-hood that can be raised over the back seat if the weather should turn.

Racing Green Country Wagonette

The wagonette will add real country charm to your wedding theme. It will seat four adults comfortably and is dressed in racing green with a delightful red trim. Traditional lanterns can hang from either side, and The Horse Drawn Carriage Company can add silk flowers or classic country bunting if you prefer. The carriage does not have a hood, so is better suited to wedding is the summer months

I made several phone calls to them arranging a Carriage for my Daughters wedding and each time they were extremely helpful. It wasn't a straightforward booking as the couple were not leaving the venue , but they were determined that the Bride and Groom would have a Carriage ride and they did ! A very pretty carriage decorated with flowers and Champagne as well, not forgetting of course Tommy and Charlie the beautiful horses.
