The hotel was originally a meeting hub for locals, known at the time as 'The Copper Inn' and still is centuries later as The Elephant. Say 'I Do' in the beautiful 'Garden Temple' which can host civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests. The intimate English gardens are the perfect backdrop for your special day. The team also have the amenities to cater for outdoor marquee celebrations.
The Elephant Hotel offers in-house catering providing a drinks reception in The Lounge, which features original fireplaces and comfy sofas with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options from Pimm's, beer, sparkling, red, white, rose wines or apple/orange juice or water.
They can provide canapes for your drinks reception, wedding breakfasts in the form of three or more course meals as well as evening food such as nibbles, a buffet, a barbeque or hog roast. In addition, they are happy to offer half of an adult portion of any dish for children.

The Elephant Hotel has a few choices with regards to accommodation. They have a total of 22 rooms ranging from chic rooms that feature a super king sized bed, classic doubles and classic singles, all of which are elegantly furnished with handcrafted Indian furniture and en-suite bathrooms. Myself and Kerstin have been coming here now for well over a year. We regularly stay and have found the standards to be consistently high. To cap it all off we hosted 100 people here for a wedding on 4 August 2016. There were also around 12 guide dogs and 23 blind people. The staff were superlative. Everyone went out of their way to help us and our wedding was one of the best days of our lives. The food is generally great and everyone commented on the high standards. Thank you elephant management and staff with special thanks to Freddie, Paloma, Claire and Lizzy.
We got married at The Elephant in October and it was the best day ever! The team is fantastic, they were so supportive during the planning and on the actual day. All our guests loved the place, the service, the food. You created such a relaxed atmosphere for us, we didn't feel we had to think about anything. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything.
