The Cosy Club

The Grade II-listed old bank is home to Birmingham's Cosy Club, a fantastic restaurant bar in the city centre. Now, you can enjoy a wedding reception with a difference in two grand private rooms inside.

Making the planning process for your wedding reception as easy and stress-free as possible, they offer food packages ranging from three course meals to bits and bowls based upon the delicious food served at the restaurant. The rooms are opulent and will add quirky class to your wedding reception celebration.

About

A chain of restaurant bars was set up in 2002 by a group of three friends and after great success with these Lounges they decided to start a new venture. The first Cosy Club began in 2010 and this Birmingham venue opened in 2015.

The Grade II-listed building that The Cosy Club inhabits was a former bank, and as such has impressive columns that make up the striking exterior. This photogenic backdrop would make a fantastic spot for your wedding photographs.

Perfect for alternative brides and grooms looking for a quirky setting, the inside features mismatched furniture and a glorious stained glass dome letting in plenty of light. There are two private rooms, The Board Room and The Holden Room, so you can enjoy your wedding reception in peace.

The team at the venue will make sure your reception runs without a hitch, with great drinks, delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere.

Facilities

There are two beautiful private spaces in the old bank building for wedding receptions.

The Board Room

This room has the advantage of a large stained glass dome and the ceiling around it is painted a deep forest green. With wallpaper covered in beautiful imagery, couples won't struggle to make the space feel decorative. The natural feel and mismatched chairs and tables offer a great deal of charm. There is even a private bar in the room.

Wedding breakfast capacity - 34 guests
Reception capacity - 50 guests

The Holden Room

Named after the founder of the Midland Bank, The Holden Room is bright and luxurious. Deep purple curtains line the windows and opulent paintings cover the walls. The walls themselves are a rich orange, with the bottom half lined with ornate teal coloured tiles. The chairs are comfortable poofs in a range of colours.

Wedding breakfast capacity - 30 guests
Reception capacity - 50 guests

Catering

The Cosy Club is known for its delicious food. For functions and wedding receptions they can offer you and your wedding party a couple of different menus.

Party Menu - £17.95 per guest

This menu includes a sharing platter starter and a main course. You can also add cinnamon doughnuts, lemon posset or chocolate brownie for pudding.

Examples of the main dishes include:

  • Truffled Kale and Leek Macaroni Cheese, topped with panko crumbs and served with garlic bread
  • Pan-fried Salmon, with crème fraiche and herb crusted new potatoes, roasted cherry tomatoes and samphire
  • 28 Day Aged 8oz Sirloin Steak, with thick-cut truffle chips, roasted tomatoes and a wild rocket and parmesan salad
Bites and Bowls Menu

If you are looking for something other than a traditional meal, perhaps this menu will tickle your fancy. Everything is intended to be shared and eaten with fingers, so could be a more communal option.

Example dishes include:

  • Beef and bone marrow croquettes with Dijon mayo
  • Tempura king prawns with soy and ginger dipping sauce
  • Garlic mushrooms on sourdough roast with cream cheese

Meanwhile, the Bowls are more substantial that the Bites, and are designed to be eaten with a knife and a fork. After the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this form of wedding breakfast food leapt in popularity.

Examples of the bowls you can enjoy include:

  • Thai Green Vegetable Curry
  • Chicken, Bacon and Avocado Salad
  • Fish and Chips
