  Both myself and Joe had the best day of our lives. This could not have happened without all of the team at The Compasses. Paul and his team are exceptional at what they do. They are professional and totally listened and understood our vision for our wedding, to make it a stress free and an amazing day.
  The venue is phenomenal, we had a personal wedding that was bespoke to our exact requirements. To create the most special day of our lives.

  We had the most wonderful day with Paul and the Team such fun in a relaxed and beautiful setting. nothing was too much trouble for this amazing team. We so enjoyed our experience with the Compasses from the moment we booked and got the warmth and love we were looking for our NYE winter wedding.   Wow, a few days after our wedding and we are still on cloud nine. So much of that is thanks to the team at the Compasses. From start to finish, Paul, Claire and the team were helpful, knowledgeable and flexible. Nothing was too much to ask, and there isn't anything the team can't advise you on!   We had our wedding reception at The Compasses on Saturday after getting married at the church in Coggeshall and could not have asked for a better venue or team to help us make what was an absolutely perfect day.
  From start to end, Paul was there to keep us on track and let us know what would be happening when, and was such a brilliant host on the day. From greeting us with our reception drinks as we got out of our car, to helping with every little detail to make the day run smoothly, we would definitely recommend The Compasses.

  Just wow!! James and I got married at the compasses yesterday. We knew it was the venue for us as soon as we walked through the door!!

  Sooooooo where do we start....... Me and my now wife got married at this venue on Saturday 26/10/19. From the second we saw this venue and the team we knew that we wanted to be married here. Paul and his team are a different class, not only was the correspondence great from day one but nothing was never too much for them.... Paul was honest with his advice and whenever we needed him he was right by our sides. He not only helped make our day perfect but he's become a friend. Amazing venue that needs very little decoration, food was on point, location gorgeous and if anybody wondered how these guys have been nominated for two HUGE awards then just spend a day at the gorgeous compasses then you will realise exactly how.

  We had the best day getting married at the Compasses on Saturday. From the minute we viewed the venue, we knew that it was the one and could not wait to get it booked! Paul is amazing, so calm and helpful from beginning to end, and it was so nice to have the flexibility to have the wedding we wanted. All the communication we had with Claire and the rest of the team was brilliant, always happy to answer any questions, and on the day everyone was just fantastic. The service from every single person was second to none and we can't imagine having had our day anywhere else

  I can't thank the compasses enough for giving us our dream wedding!
  The compasses was our first viewing of venues, we went to see somewhere else and straight away we knew we had to choose the compasses and I am so glad we did.

  We had our wedding last Saturday at this beautiful venue. From the moment we first visited we knew this was where we wanted to be. Our whole day was just perfect and we have lots of special memories that will last forever. The venue was stunning inside as was the surrounding countryside which allowed for some beautiful scenic photos. All of our guests said how much they loved and enjoyed the day. The venue aside, what makes this such a great place to have your wedding is the amazing team headed by Paul, totally dedicated to making the day stress free and smooth running for us and our guests, we would highly recommend to anyone who wants a day to remember, thank you from the bottom of our hearts x

  Wow where to even start, thanks so very much to Paul and everyone involved with only 10 weeks to plan our special day! The venue is stunning and picturesque with the most gorgeous sunsets! We felt so relaxed and at home with everything from start to finish. I can't even begin to explain what a fantastic job Paul does to make things run smoothly on the day and may I add he made sure I always had a glass in my hand which was great! We were lucky enough to have him do the honour of our blessing - he was just brilliant and it was perfect. To everyone behind the scene and all the staff, Claire, Charlaine and Jono thank you for answering all the questions we had - nothing was ever too much! Our day was so special and the compasses will forever be a special place in our hearts

  Where do we start...everything about this place is special, the building, the facilities, the location, the atmosphere and most of all the staff.
  From the moment we first visited it was all about 'our' day and how we wanted to celebrate. No questions too silly, no questions unanswered and no expectation to have to do it this way as that how we run things.
  Yesterday was our day and the team that is The Compasses led by the amazing Paul made it a day that was so special, so us and one we will always treasure. Our family and friends loved the venue and the atmosphere as much as we did and that sunset last night was the absolute icing on the cake - Thank-you so very much and we cannot wait to share one or two photos with you

  We cannot truly express in words just how wonderful and beautifully rustic and rural this location is.
  Surrounded by fields after fields there is no shortness of breath taking views, making for wonderful photos.
  There is also a stunning bridal room to get ready in, where you can have bridal party hair and makeup done with a drink of fizz or two.
  As for the staff -
  We cannot thank Paul enough for taking such good care of us on our big day. He is so relaxing to be around, and always made sure we were ok and were not in need of anything. He is like a well-oiled machine keeping everything running smoothly. There was always a genuine smiley face whenever you saw him, and his attention to detail is literally second to none.
  Claire and Charlaine were my saviours in communication throughout the last year, helping me make decisions, addressing all the financial aspect of the process, and answering every single question I had (there was a lot) and never made me feel like I was asking too much. Thank you Ladies.
  If you want perfection then really don't look any further.
  Thank you for helping make our wedding day the day we wanted and helping us feel so relaxed.

  You need to look no further, this wonderful venue is all you need, my daughter's wedding was absolutely the best day ever, Valentine catering absolutely amazing and Paul made sure everything ran smoothly and ensured a stress free day that all the wedding party could enjoy, we cannot thank the compasses enough

  We enjoyed our amazing day here in June. This venue is beautiful and provides the backdrop for the most amazing photos. The team behind the scenes, Claire particularly, are always on hand to answer questions and respond to emails. Nothing is too much trouble. Paul leads the day, and was a huge help from the first meeting through to the end of the day. He ensured we were treated like royalty, fed, watered and looked after. The food was outstanding and all of our guests commented on the personal nature of our wedding which set it apart from many they had been to before. A truly lovely venue allowing a completely bespoke wedding to suit every kind of couple. We only wish we could do it all again.

  We knew straight away when we visited the Compasses this was the perfect venue for us! It's a beautiful venue in the picturesque Essex countryside which is just what we wanted for our day! But what makes this so special is the wonderful people there who genuinely care and love what they do and you can tell! Big thanks to Paul , who is just amazing and to Claire and the other ladies in the office. Our wedding day was so special and we were so lucky with the weather too! All our guests loved the venue and someone said it was a hidden gem! We highly recommend you visit the Compasses and discover it for yourselves!

  We got married at The Compasses at Pattiswick in April 2019 and it was truly the best day of our lives!
  It was better than we could have ever imagined. Nothing is a problem for Claire and Lisa and Paul was amazing on the day. Everyone has commented on how brilliant he was and we cannot thank everyone enough at The Compasses for everything they did.

  I just wanted to say thank you all for our amazing Wedding! Everything was so smooth from the booking process right through to the big day! We had so many compliments from people about how the day just flowed and there was no waiting around for anything.
  The food tasted amazing and the afternoon tea exceeded everyone's expectations. Paul was so attentive throughout the day, making sure me and Darryl were happy and keeping us in the loop with the next step of the day. Also, Sue, who was looking after us in the Bridal Suite was brilliant! She was so attentive and even my Hair & Makeup team commented on how good she was, even making sure they were OK.
  The whole team were happy to help with any questions leading up to the big day. We are so thankful and happy we booked our wedding with you and couldn't have asked for a better day!

  We got married at The Compasses at Pattiswick on 24th May and to put it simply, we had the best day.
  From first seeing The Compasses, we felt it was definitely 'us'! It's a gorgeous venue with an intimate and relaxed vibe. Everyone we met and spoke with were so friendly and helpful, including Claire, Lisa, Sue and Charlaine.
  The biggest thank you to Paul, who was such a star throughout. He made the day go so smoothly, making sure we were OK the whole time. So many guests commented on him and how friendly he was and the venue in general - they loved it!
  Nothing is an inconvenience to The Compasses, they did all the hard work in setting up the venue exactly how we wanted it and it really took the stress out of the lead up to the wedding day. We had the most amazing day and it has given us memories we will always treasure. Thank you so much!

  Paul and the team were so welcoming and helpful from the moment we first viewed the venue right up until we left at the end of the big day.
  It is a gorgeous venue, perfect for the relaxed style of day that we wanted. All the staff are lovely and go the extra mile to make sure that everyone is happy and catered for.

  What an amazing place! We can't imagine there being any better venue to have a wedding.
  From the moment we saw The Compasses at Pattiswick we knew it would be perfect for our special day. A stunning building in a gorgeous setting with the most caring, organised and friendly people all there to make your day as perfect as you always dreamed of!
  Paul and his team think of everything (even things you didn't realise you needed/wanted)! Nothing is too much to ask and they ensured that all your needs are catered for, including special meals for one of our guests (a young boy with a selection of complex allergies).
  A few days before the wedding, I even asked Paul if he could make sure the sun would be shining for our day - I don't know how he did it but he even managed to accomplish this!
  There's really nothing else to say other than 'Thank you', 'Thank you', 'Thank you'!!!

  My daughter got married at The Compasses at Pattiswick and I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing attention to every little detail - we couldn't have asked for more.
  Every member of staff worked non-stop from early morning until very late at night to ensure that my daughter and son-in-law had the most perfect day.
  I can't recommend the venue highly enough.
