The Barns Hotel

Situated in a beautiful riverside location in Bedfordshire, Barns Hotel offers comprehensive wedding packages and use of their award-winning 13th century Tithe Barn wedding suite. With 49 guest bedrooms to boot, this hotel can comfortably accommodate weddings of up to 120 guests.

History

Whilst the hotel's main building likely dates back to the 16th century, it has undergone numerous refurbishments and additions over the years, most recently in 2010. All 49 bedrooms in the hotel are recently upgraded and contain all modern fittings, whilst the outside of the building remains in keeping with its earlier origins.

The Tithe Barn, which is the hotel's main weddings and events suite, dates back to the 13th century, although it has been sympathetically restored and refurbished over time.

With five potential wedding suites of various capacities on offer, there is something to suit every couple at Barns Hotel.

The Tithe Barn

This is Barns Hotel's most frequently used wedding suite, and we can completely see why! The 13th century structure retains its original features, making it a rustic and characterful setting for your wedding day. All receptions are held here as it comes equipped with its own bar.

It also overlooks the 16th century main hotel building, and has easy access to the hotel's gardens, ideal for photographs.

Ceremony/Reception capacity: 120 guests

Wedding breakfast capacity: 80 guests

Riverside Suite/WineGlass Restaurant

Boasting lovely bay windows that will allow natural light to illuminate your ceremony, the Riverside Suite is ideal for smaller weddings, and can be used alongside the spacious WineGlass restaurant where your wedding breakfast can be served in a light and airy setting.

Ceremony capacity: 35 guests

Wedding breakfast capacity: 35 guests

Northill and Southill Suites

Ideal for those wanting an intimate wedding celebration, the Northill and Southill suites offer stunning views over the hotel's gardens, and can be converted into banqueting suites for your wedding breakfast.

Ceremony capacity: 35 guests

Wedding breakfast capacity: 30 guests

Catering

Three-course wedding breakfasts at Barns Hotel come with their all-inclusive packages, and the hotel's chefs have designed numerous menu ideas for brides and grooms to suit every palate. Dietary requirements are happily catered for.

Accommodation

Special rates for your guests are available so that no one need worry about getting themselves home after a night of drinks and dancing. 49 recently updated bedrooms are available from just £60 per night (single occupancy, when staying two nights). An executive room for the bride and groom on the wedding night is included in one of the hotel's all-inclusive packages.

The Barns Hotel's wedding packages are very reasonably priced, ranging from £3995 to £5995 based on 50 wedding breakfast guests and 80 reception guests, although they are amenable to creating bespoke packages for those wishing to have a larger celebration.

All packages include hire of the Tithe Barn for the reception, a three-course wedding breakfast, a finger food buffet, prosecco, wine, and a resident DJ, as well as the services of the hotel's dedicated wedding planner to see that every aspect of your day is perfect.

    The Barns is in a beautiful setting close to the river Ouse. It was an ideal setting for an Easter Wedding. The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. We had the ceremony in the Wineglass restaurant, then went on a boat on the river for drinks and canapés, then back to the Wineglass restaurant for a meal. After the meal, we had more photos outside and the restaurant was transformed into a party area with disco for the evening. We had the library, bar and Wineglass restaurant and it was a great venue for 100+ guests to party the night away. We stopped overnight and had a good breakfast the next day. All staff were very professional. One member of staff, Kay, excelled with her level of service and was very friendly, helpful to all guests. She would be an asset for others to have at their wedding!

    We got married at The Barns on 13th April and it was fantastic. The staff on the day were absolutely brilliant - they were all great and did everything possible to make it a perfect day. Food was lovely and many of our evening guests commented on the quality of the BBQ buffet. Our room was lovely and breakfast the morning after was delicious - and it was noted that the good service and attentiveness of the staff continued the following day too!

    Thanks to all the staff who made us so welcome. The bar staff were exceptional. The food and service excellent. A fantastic wedding venue. And a good nights sleep close by. A breakfast to keep you going strong all day! The setting by the river is beautiful and plenty of car parking space.
