Sulgrave Manor

Nestled in the scenic village of Sulgrave, this manor house offers several spaces for your special day and is licensed for both civil marriages and partnerships.Choose between having your wedding ceremony inside the 16th century manor house, out in the charming oak-beamed barn or situated in the beautiful gardens.

Sulgrave Manor caters for both intimate and large weddings and allows you to create a bespoke day in an idyllic setting. Choose from the venues list of recommended caterers and have your wedding, your way.

History

Built by George Washington's direct ancestors, this beautiful 16th century manor house is a fabulous venue with an orchard, lawns and gardens that were re-designed in the 1920s and provide a striking backdrop for your wedding day.

Original Tudor features have been maintained in this house including a gorgeous oak front door and the Grand Hall in which you can host your wedding ceremony.

The house retains plenty of its original character. It's stunning symmetrical front will leave a great first impression on your wedding guests and is a perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

Now the house is used for weddings and for costumed events depicting Tudor life and the Washington families fascinating history.

You can book yourself in for a guided tour of Sulgrave Manor, and you can imagine first hand your special day.

Facilities

The Great Hall

This stunning hall dates back to the 16th century and has original features to truly add 'something old' to your day. This space is perfect for brides and grooms who seek a venue with history and antiquity.

Ceremony capacity - 75 guests (seated)

Barn and Gardens

An elegant barn which complements the house and is classically designed so you can create your bespoke wedding inside. The cosy style of the barn lends itself to intimate weddings, but lavish celebrations can still take place.

Ceremony capacity - 100 guests (seated)

Marquee and Tipi

Framed by apple orchards and lavender bushes, this quintessentially English garden is an idyllic location for summer drinks receptions and perhaps a festival themed wedding.

Spacious lawns provide the perfect location for larger weddings with the option of both a marquee and tipi. Additional space can be hired if necessary.

Sulgrave Manor have a list of recommended and approved suppliers whom they have had successful weddings with in the past. These include caterers, venue stylists, cake bakers, mobile bars, photo booths and more!

Catering

Sulgrave Manor has a list of recommended caterers that can create delicious menus on your special day; alternately you are welcome to provide your own catering.

Sulgrave Manor also do not charge corkage for post ceremony drinks, however an extra fee does apply for outside meal and evening drinks unless provided by one of their suppliers.

    The staff and wedding co-ordinators are very helpful and flexible, and they were always around whenever we needed to check anything with them. We wanted a stunning venue which wasn't pretentious and that's exactly what we got. The grounds and Manor are beautiful and the barn where wedding receptions are held is modern yet looks very traditional and fits in beautifully with the historic surroundings. The venue is great value for money, especially considering the great service.
