The history of Stanwell House dates back hundreds of years to the Georgian era, its design reflecting the simple and elegant architecture of the time. Over the centuries the building has served as a private home, a finishing school for girls, a solicitors and finally, in 1945, a hotel.
In 2007 the hotel was bought by Robert & Victoria, turning it into a modern and stylish wedding venue that celebrates in 10-year anniversary this year!

All have separate lounge areas with large TVs and Nespresso machines. 2 of the suites boast beautiful outdoor terraces that look out onto the garden. AddressWe held our wedding reception at Stanwell House Hotel. We could not praise the hotel and its staff more highly. Stanwell House is in a wonderful location in the heart of Lymington and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The function room was prepared so well, it looked stunning and they were very accommodating in allowing us to have a band playing in the orangerie in the evening. The gardens at the back of the hotel were a perfect place for guests to relax outside and for additional photos to be taken. The rooms at the hotel each have their own style and our family members particularly liked their rooms looking out onto the gardens. The food was high-end restaurant standard. The service provided by all the staff on the day and in the evening was just perfect. They were attentive but managed at the same time to give us the space we needed. It was faultless. We have such happy memories and would not hesitate in recommending the venue. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our day so special.
My husband and I got married at Stanwell's and were the first wedding to be held in their beautiful garden. From the first meeting with Annette, the lovely wedding co-ordinator, to the time that we had to check out; the service, staff and venue were first class. The inside and outside of the hotel and perfect for weddings and we had the hotel exclusively so our guests got to enjoy a stay in all of their lovely bedrooms. The food was absolutely 5*! The 3 course wedding breakfast that they served was some of the nicest food we had ever had. We had given our guests a choice menu and all 8 dishes that were served were out of this world and greatly complimented by every single one of our guests In the evening we had a DJ in the bistro which was fab. Stanwell house went above and beyond our expectations We shall be revisiting often and can't rate it high enough!
Stanwell house is just amazing. We saw the hotel online about 2 and a half years ago and thought then it would be a lovely venue if we ever got married. On Sunday we had that wedding and it could not of been more perfect. The food is 10 out 10. The venue is 10 out of 10. And the staff are 10 out of 10. We got everything we wanted and more. Annette is the most lovely wedding planner you will meet. Florin was the best manager I have come across in years. He did everything he could to keep me happy and relaxed. I love this hotel. We have stayed before the wedding and we will continue to visit for years to come. Thank you to all of you at Stanwell.
