History

Shottle Hall was built in 1861 on land belonging to Chatsworth Estate. In 2005, the hall underwent extensive renovations to preserve and enhance the building's delightful period features. Presenting a mix of antique and contemporary furniture and decoration, the hall is now the perfect place for a unique wedding.

Elsewhere in the grounds, the period Victorian coach house is adorned with stylish modern chandeliers. Nearby, a modern marquee, completed in 2017, has everything you need for a night dancing under a starlit canopy.

Facilities

The Coach House Marquee

This is not your typical marquee wedding venue. The Coach House features a permanent marquee with a starlit ceiling and elegant crystal chandeliers. You can marry inside the beautiful Victorian Coach House (or under the gazebo outside) and then dine and dance in the spacious marquee overlooking the rolling countryside. With underfloor heating and solid walls, this space feels more like a stately home than a tent!

The Hall

Shottle Hall is a lovely Victorian country house, overlooking the picturesque Ecclesbourne Valley. Old meets new in the quintessentially English hall which features modern facilities and amenities. Enjoy the lounge, library and bar before dining at the Orangery Restaurant, then spend your wedding night in one of eight stylish bedrooms.

Catering

The in-house chefs at Shottle Hall provide delicious food, drinks and nibbles, catering for a range of dietary needs, and even offering a children's menu. The chefs also recommend that you attend a tasting session where you will try three starters, main courses and desserts.

Drinks Reception

Choose a Classic, Premium or Deluxe package, or go for something a little different with a beer bucket or jugs of fruit juice. Shottle Hall works with John Hattersley Wines to bring you a fantastic selection.

Enjoy with cold, warm, or sweet canapés or a platter for your guests to nibble on. Dishes include prawn dill crostini, fig and goats cheese parcels, and chocolate covered strawberries.

Wedding Breakfast

Choose one dish for each course, or give guests an option of a second for just £3.95 per person. You can also add sorbet and cheese courses, or choose to have afternoon tea.

• Homemade Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with goats cheese toast
• Smoked Duck Breast served with a roast pine nut and rocket salad and a plum and ginger purée
• Handmade Smoked Haddock and Smoked Applewood Fishcake served with creamed leeks and lemon

• Traditional Country Roast: choose from pork, turkey, beef or lamb
• Teriyaki Salmon Fillet served with fine noodles, baby vegetables and a chili sauce
• Tomato and Spinach Risotto topped with parmesan on a bed of rocket

• Finest Belgian Waffle, served warm with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with butterscotch and chocolate sauce

Shottle Hall likes to keep its pricing simple so you can get on with the important stuff. Prices vary, depending on the time of year and the day of the week. You can choose to hire the Coach House Marquee, the Hall, or even the whole Estate! Add food and drinks packages on top to complete your day.

The Coach House Marquee

Enjoy all the amenities of the marquee and Coach House, with Italian style gardens and flushing toilets, from just £1000.

The Hall

Tie the knot in the Shottle Hall's traditional Drawing Room with views over beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Feast in The Orangery under a painted, starlit ceiling listening to a baby grand piano that can play itself. Explore the library - this one even has a hidden door. Mingle with your guests in the Gallery Bar and enjoy a delightful family breakfast in the Devonshire Dining Room the morning after. You can have all of this from just £1500.

The Estate

If you have difficulty choosing between the marquee and the hall, why not have both? The Estate package includes hire of both venues with flexibility regarding how you make your wedding day. You can choose to start the day in the Hall and party in the Marquee before returning to the Hall to sleep. With prices starting at £2000, including accommodation and a full English breakfast the morning after, the Estate package is a great choice.

Stylishly refurbished by successful interior designer Adam Walkden in 2005 to infuse traditional with contemporary, the hall's eight individually designed bedrooms provide the perfect haven for you and your guests to relax and rest in after a wonderful wedding day.
