About

The pavilion at Shenley Cricket Club was designed by the renowned cricketer W. G. Grace in the 19th century. It's hosted many international cricket teams over the years, including South Africa, Sri Lanka, the West Indies and New Zealand.

Facilities

The Long Room

This room is entirely flexible and can host either a ceremony or a drinks reception at your whim. Lined with large windows overlooking the grounds, the room has a light, airy atmosphere.

Ceremony capacity - 100 guests

Reception capacity - 120 guests

The Summer Marquee

This marquee is available between May and September, offering plenty of space for dancing and dining.

Wedding breakfast capacity - 180 guests

Reception capacity - 300 guests

The Winter Marquee

Available between October and April, this heated marquee is perfect for an intimate winter wedding reception.

Wedding breakfast capacity - 120 guests

Reception capacity - 200 guests

To make the absolute most of the sunny summer weather, ceremonies can also be held on the front patio of the pavilion. Contact a member of staff for more details.

Catering

The in-house chefs at Shenley Cricket Club are eager to please, offering delicious dishes and excellent service. They cook an exceptional range of canapés and three course meals but the team here are flexible and open to your requests. Hearty hog roasts and barbecues are also available for any meat-loving couples out there.

Packages

Shenley Cricket Club hires exclusive to you and offers a variety of wedding packages to take the hassle out of budgeting your big day. A basic package for 50 guests starts at £2,400 and includes:

  • Hire of the venue from 9am to midnight
  • Two course wedding breakfast
  • Half a bottle of wine per person
  • Sparkling wine for toasts

Accommodation

Though there's no accommodation on-site, local hotels are just three miles away. Shenley Cricket Club personally recommends the Red Lion, a local B and B just five minutes down the road.

    We had our wedding reception at Shenley on the 9th September. It was honestly the most incredible day and it couldn't have gone more smoothly thanks to the wonderful team. Special thanks to Lucy for all of her help in the lead up to the day, answering all of our questions and making as feel at ease and also to Claire for being absolutely fantastic at running the show on the day. Our friends and family commented on what a lovely lady she was! Shenley is just such a beautiful venue, we got the most amazing pictures and were also graced with a rainbow. I need to also mention the incredible food, which our wedding party raved about. We opted for the hog roast and meat and cheese platter for the evening guests and unbelievably there was too much food!
