Facilities

There are a host of facilities available to hold every part of your special day.

The Great Room

The largest of all the house's rooms, the Great Room creates a beautifully classical feel, with decorative false columns and an eye-catching mural that spans the wall in an epic portrayal of the progress of human knowledge.

Civil ceremony capacity - 140 guests
Evening reception capacity - 140 guests

The Benjamin Franklin Room

With four central pillars and a wide open space the Benjamin Franklin room brings a sense of sophistication and style. Daylight floods the room from the vast windows and the stunning Troika chandelier casts gentle patterns across the ceiling, to a delicate, and almost floral, effect.

Civil ceremony capacity - 100 guests
Evening reception capacity - 110 guests

Vaults

Formally used to store wine, the Vaults have been revitalised with integrated sound and lighting systems that, combined with the exposed 18th century brickwork create a retro and trendy venue. The Vaults claim a separate entrance onto Durham Street to give any event an exclusive vibe.

Civil ceremony capacity - 80 guests
Evening reception capacity - 110 guests

Romney Room

A space that combines intimacy with splendour, the Romney Room boasts an original Adams ceiling, the fine decoration and the duck egg colour scheme give the room a royal feel. A removable 52" plasma screen is included in the room, which adjoins to the Prince Phillip and Shipley rooms.

Civil ceremony capacity - 30 guests
Evening reception capacity - 20 guests

Prince Phillip Room

The centrefold of this room's beauty is its many windows, opening out the space and making it light and airy. The ceiling is extravagantly and colourfully decorated, with two small, classically inspired, murals that give the room a curious charm.

Civil ceremony capacity - 40 guests
Evening reception capacity - 48 guests

  • Caroline and Ryan

''Thank you so much for all your help in organising Caroline and Ryan's wedding reception. We all appreciated your very professional approach and attention to detail. Everything went according to plan on the day and our guests had a lovely time at the RSA.''

  • Laura Yorston

For anyone that enjoys architecture and art this is a must see wedding venue. The mural in the Great Room and the painted staircase are show stoppingly beautiful and the venue is filled with natural light. Our guests were in awe of the venue!

During the planning process our RSA wedding coordinator was friendly, helpful and very professional.

Another part of choosing the RSA was for the food and drink, it was impeccable in terms of both quality and presentation. It was a joy to spend time with the catering team planning the menu and many of our guests commented on the quality of the food, especially the canapes which are still being discussed now!
We could not recommend the RSA enough as a wedding venue.
