Hidden away in the Chiltern Hills and surrounded by quintessential English countryside just west of Aylesbury sits Notley Tythe Barn. The Barn belongs to the Reynolds family and has for 350 years. Restored in 1991, it still holds many of its original features including a gorgeous fireplace giving guests an inviting welcome.

The 12th century barn accommodates up to 200 guests for the evening reception. Make it your day with their in-house caterers supplying a sustainable menu and a dedicated coordination team on hand. Add more guests to your special day with the option of putting up a marquee in the grounds.

History

Notley Tythe Barn dates back to the 12th century and is nestled in the acres of Notley farm belonging to the Reynolds family for 350 years. The owners Nick and Denise Reynolds transformed the barn into a stunning venue in 1991 and have been running weddings ever since.

As The Reynolds family have been farming in the area for over 350 years, Nick and Denise wanted to maintain a family-feel throughout the running of the Tythe Barn. Every detail is meticulously planned using their wealth of knowledge and experience in hosting wedding celebrations.

Facilities

All guests have exclusive access to the beautiful barn and picturesque grounds throughout their celebration.

The Barn

The barn itself can seat 140 guests comfortably with an interconnected permanent marquee for reception guests. The interior is a spectacle, boasting a beam rafted roof and whitewashed hall along with a fully licenced bar and experienced staff on hand. The doors of the barn open out onto the lovely lawn and beautiful countryside views.

Civil ceremony capacity - 140 guests
Wedding breakfast capacity - 200 guests
Evening capacity- 200 guests

Grounds

There is a wonderful cocktail and canapé lawn for the adults to enjoy champagne and reflect on the day, while the children can run around safely on the recreational ground.

Marquee

There is a permanent marquee along with the Barn which is suitable for larger capacity celebrations and additionally a larger marquee can be placed on the grounds to accommodate up to 250 guests.

Catering

Notley Tythe Barn prides itself on the ability to produce a sustainable menu. The traditional menus feature ingredients made up of locally sourced produce and use seasonable vegetables and sustainable fish. The team at Notley Tythe Barn offer a traditional, rustic three course meal and will work with you to create your perfect menu.

Accommodation

Although no accommodation is offered on site, there are a number of hotels nearby including the luxury Spread Eagle Hotel for you or your guests to stay.
