History
Moor Hall was originally constructed in the 1500s where it served as the residence of Bishop Vesey, who, in his esteemed position at the time, frequently hosted royalty. Throughout the centuries, Moor Hall underwent transformations, with a significant rebuild in the 1800s. However, the most notable was in 1903 when Colonel Ansell, renowned for his brewery legacy, undertook the construction of the present structure. Colonel Ansell, along with his family and 10 servants, made Moor Hall their home.
The next chapter in Moor Hall's history unfolded in 1961 when Michael Webb, driven by a vision for a vibrant social venue, acquired the estate. Over the span of 60 years, the family have invested in the property, transforming it with 83 thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, two distinguished restaurants, six versatile meeting rooms, and a Leisure Club & Spa.
