About
First opened in 1962 and founded as the Midlands Arts Centre for Young People, it owes its existence to the vision of Councillor Sir Frank Price and John English. John English and his wife were very active in the Birmingham amateur theatre world and from this formed a touring group.
Having received copious amounts of support from Birmingham City Council, they provided the centre with the 8.6-acre site where it still stands in Cannon Hill Park. This fantastic arts complex underwent extensive £15.2m refurbishment between 2008 and 2010 and has since welcomed many couples to their remarkable venue for bespoke wedding celebrations.
The state-of-the-art building specialises in displaying contemporary work, as well as also playing host to a varied programme of theatre, dance, music and many more. They pride themselves in hosting your wedding and believe it's a completely unique and special place to celebrate your love.
This creative space is loved by artists and is the perfect spot for the alternative couple looking for a venue that offers something a little different in the city centre.
