Ikon Gallery is an internationally acclaimed art gallery in the centre of Birmingham. The gallery was founded in 1964 by a group of artists who had the intention of providing an accessible space, where exchanging visual ideas can become a reality for the public.

Well recognised for its artistic excellence and internationalism it today remains as a major part of Birmingham's cultural landscape.

The remarkable gallery, sitting within the gorgeous building, can be transformed into a magnificent area to host your reception. Make use of its neo gothic features, offering an outstanding backdrop for the day.

The Gallery

The gallery is a unique and inspiring environment, featuring high ceilings, neutral décor and of course their fabulous display of varied artwork. Adapt the space around your wedding theme; complement the fixtures with subtle décor.

Ikon has two galleries both available for hire, the attractive architecture will make for a stylish affair. The ever-changing background, consisting of international contemporary art will make for an evening to remember.

Catering

York's is run and owned independently and are recommended for all catering services for your wedding.

Sitting proudly at the front of the old Oozells St school built in 1847 (now the Ikon Gallery), Yorks at Ikon's menus span breakfast, brunch, lunch and later. Stripping back the old sterile space, they've embraced the personality of the building exposing the building's character for the 1800s. Patina-rich metals and concrete are softened with wood, foliage and home-grown herbs on the terrace. Yorks at Ikon serves an award winning brunch menu all day alongside a lunch menu from noon. From late afternoon, the lights go down and the music goes up as our menu is served alongside cocktails, bottled and canned craft beers, wines and whiskies.

Accommodation

Although the venue doesn't offer accommodation, there are plenty of neighbouring hotels and apartments. Set in Birmingham's Oozells square, there's accommodation that will suit all tastes.

Extras

The team are happy to help every step of the way, to ensure a smooth and fun-filled reception. If you need help with sourcing suppliers the team are able to arrange catering, lighting, and sound systems for you!
