As a regular and local supplier to the Laker Suite I can testament what a wonderful gem of a venue this is to marry in. The Laker Suite has such versatility and has a real cosy and romantic feel when dressed and lit for a wedding. The team here are amazingly flexible too in their approach and really do bend over backwards to accommodate their couples and to make sure they have a day to remember. The fact that the hotel is also large enough for all the guests to stay at the end of the evening, I believe to be a winning bonus that no other venues in the area have.
Great wedding venue, nothing is too much trouble for Hayley & the team who always look after their clients & suppliers to a very high standard. I have seen the Laker Suite dressed in various designs and it always looks beautiful, with real attention to detail plus the bonus of impressive photo opportunities to be had on the glass staircase & around the hotel. If you are looking for an excellent wedding venue with a reasonable price tag, I would highly recommend the Laker Suite.
From the get go we knew Holiday Inn was going to be our venue of choice. We attended a wedding fair back in 2019 and was immediately wowed by the space and modern environment that the Holiday Inn had to offer. The laker suite and ground floor is filled with natural light and modern finishes from the bar area right through to the laker suite. We had arranged separately via one of the suppliers at the wedding fair to have the laker suite draped and the room was absolutely stunning! The size of the venue was perfect for our wedding. The food provided throughout the day was absolutely amazing and is testament to the quality the Holiday Inn set out to achieve for us. The staff were absolutely amazing, a massive thank you to Hayley who has held our hands throughout the entire process, talked us through absolutely everything and shared her knowledge with us. We both feel that Hayley has really gone above and beyond to make the experience to be as good as it was. Sue on the day also deserves a huge round of applause and a huge thank you from us. Sue was always available and on hand to ensure the day run smoothly with no hiccups. If you are looking for a modern venue, fantastic support and the best food for your guests the Holiday Inn is the one for you.
The staff of the Holiday Inn are first class!! Our wedding plans were tailored just for us, and we can't speak highly enough of each and every one of them. The food was amazing the buffet was incredible, all our guests have said what a great wedding it was , the DJ was very good , and the room was decorated for our wedding night with even a personalised bottle of Prosecco, what a beautiful touch! Well done everyone at Holiday Inn! I would recommend your special day to be held here, you will not find better!!
From start to finish are wedding day was perfect. Holiday inn Southend made everything stress free. couldn't thank the wedding team enough they was their every step of the way and was very professional. We had are whole day at the venue, the running of the day ran smooth from transforming wedding ceremony to breakfast room to evening party the whole set up was brilliant. Everything was personalised and catered for are day, wedding breakfast and buffet was of a very high standard not one item of food was left, their was a large bar area that was well stocked. Are day could not have gone any better with thanks to the amazing wedding team at the holiday inn Southend.

Sorry guys, very long review to follow…If you're looking for a Yes No recommendation. It's a yes from us. Do it, book now, you won't regret it. We used Holiday Inn Southend for our wedding on the 25th July 2021. Having been to a wedding fayre in January 2020 we initially booked for our wedding to take place on the 23rd July 2020 and fell in love with the venue when we walked in! At an amazing price, we had our perfect wedding planned. Covid struck Then COVID struck! And we had to move the date which was done without any issues whatsoever. At some stage we had decided to get married in a registry office and then have this event as a renewal ceremony when the restrictions left, this was January 2021. The team at Holiday Inn were extremely easy to speak to and happy to change. Then COVID struck again and ruled out registry weddings unless you were on your death bed. So another change was required! I think by this count it was about the 6th time of changing and we finally got married on the 25th July 2021. Three days before our wedding, we had six people drop out due to COVID therefore our menus, table plans, set up etc all needed to be changed to the new guests. What can I say, they met our needs immediately and changed them all. (We had 16 children at our wedding … if that's anything to go by) We also added three vegans to our guest lists, so the chef kindly accommodated for this with a large selection of choices for the guests. At every step of our journey, the team at the Holiday Inn were more than helpful and friendly. Couldn't do enough for us to make our day as perfect as it could be. Now onto the wedding day itself. One word sums it up, Perfection. Sue, our coordinator was there before the ceremony to make sure everything was ready for our day. Keeping in touch with the bride and wedding party prior to the ceremony. Coordinating our interviews with the registrars etc. Then finding time within our schedule to allow for me and my new wife to go off site with photographers before our wedding breakfast and kept the guests entertained. Sharon & her team behind the bar were fantastic. Kept the drinks flowing, bubbly personality and nice and chatty to keep us all in the party mood. The food….Wow. It had been such a long time since our wedding tasters we had forgotten just how nice they were. Melt in mouth gammon, mouth watering chicken. Need I continue. The food portions were massive and tasted incredible. Then onto the room … blimey. Being nosey, I made sure to look in everyone's room at one stage or another – we had 6 rooms booked with a last minute change on the day which was handled smoothly. All of them were immaculately clean and spacious with all the bits and pieces you need for a night away from home. Our room however, the Superior upgrade was out of this world. Roll top bath enough for two … (proven), rainforest walk in shower and dual sinks in the bathroom, king size bed, two seater sofa, 2 arm chairs and table. TV and not forgetting the extremely large windows with a perfect view of the airport – seeing planes taking off and landing at the airport from the comfort of your bedroom on your wedding night was out of this world. Not forgetting the complimentary and very thoughtful chilled bottle of champagne and card waiting for us in the room by the staff at the Holiday Inn. Wedding review : Not a single fault to be found anywhere So much so, we are returning for a night tomorrow !! I have nothing but praise for Noi and the team. I initially dealt with Hayley when I first inquired about hiring the venue for my wedding and when she went on maternity leave I was worried that I would have to start all the planning and communication all over again. This was not the case, Noi was happy to answer all of my questions no matter how silly I thought them to be. She introduced me to Sue on the day who was amazing at organising everything and helping make sure everything ran smoothly, when she handed over to Sam (I believe that was his name) in the evening before she left he also did a wonderful job of making sure everything was going well and we were kept so well informed.
We really want to thank everyone at the Holiday Inn for making our day so wonderful and really giving us the best day EVER....
Love it! We had our wedding there and evening reception, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The food which was a 3 course sit down and a buffet in the evening was fantastic, would recommend to anybody for their wedding or just to eat.
