Hartwell House, situated in the Vale of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, lies at the edge of the Chilterns, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is conveniently located just two miles from the bustling market town of Aylesbury and 20 miles from Oxford. This distinguished hotel features 48 bedrooms and suites, recognised for its exceptional hospitality and culinary excellence through numerous awards.

The property, showcasing both Jacobean and Georgian architectural styles, has been meticulously restored by Historic House Hotels, which also transformed the 18th-century stables, coach house, and indoor riding school into additional accommodation. Spanning over 90 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and parkland, the hotel is accessed via a grand drive, with the ruins of a gothic church, leading to a picturesque scene of tree-lined avenues and a lake.

Facilities

Hartwell House has four rooms licensed to host your ceremony, as well as a choice of magnificent drawing rooms for your wedding breakfast and reception.

The Soane Room - creates a stunning setting with its arched windows overlooking the lawns, perfect for a maximum number of 84 guests.

The James Wyatt Room – located in Hartwell Court looking out onto a cobbled courtyard with an elegant corridor leading to it, with a maximum of 72 guests.

The Doric Room – offers an intimate setting for a ceremony of up to 36 guests with access leading out to the south terrace of the main house.

The Octagon Room – the perfect setting for a smaller ceremony with up to 16 guests. It has a beautiful view over the lawns and a tented ceiling adorned with a stunning crystal chandelier.

For non-legal ceremonies, the Gibbs Pavilion in the garden is the perfect choice.

Exclusively Yours

If you’re looking to host a larger wedding for up to 150 guests, why not consider using the South Terrace and adding a marquee. An exclusive use marquee includes the main house public rooms, dining rooms and 32 bedrooms and suites in the main house and 16 in Hartwell Court.

Ceremony only package - prices include a civil ceremony, use of a drawing room in the main house or James Gibbs room in Hartwell Court for guests to gather and as a reception room after the ceremony, flower arrangements in the ceremony room, seating for guests and photographic areas.

Wedding breakfast only package - you can be assured that your guests will be looked after with award-winning food, excellent wines and a discreet and professional service so you can relax and enjoy your day.

Full wedding package – enjoy your whole day at Hartwell House. This includes the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception with dedicated waiting staff. The finer detail is the inclusion of flowers for the ceremony room, photographic areas, central table arrangements, menu cards, place cards, cake stand and knife.
