The original Grittleton Manor, a three-bay Carolean mansion, was constructed in 1660. The estate was purchased by Sir Joseph Neeld in 1828, soon after which the changes that are still seen today became apparent. Sir Joseph inherited a large fortune from his silversmith uncle, redesigning the house to its present appearance. It now stands as a compelling Italianate Gothic Mansion.

Previously one of the state rooms, with original features and amazing views, The Yellow Gallery is a lovely civil ceremony setting.
With its abundance of ornate features, The Red Gallery offers yet another wonderful potential backdrop for your civil ceremony.
For a CofE wedding service, the 12th-century parish church is located in the village of Grittleton, just a short walk from the house.

We are animal lovers at Grittleton House and would be happy to welcome your special friend. We just ask that pets are not left unattended at any point. Pets are welcome during the ceremony and drinks reception only and are not permitted to stay overnight.
The Executive Chef and Head Chef are Michelin trained and work alongside a talented team of kitchen staff. They can create and prepare a delectable menu for your wedding breakfast, only using locally sourced and fine quality seasonal ingredients. The house itself is incredibly beautiful, and makes for a perfect backdrop for a magical ceremony. The bedrooms in the house are amazing, and the bridal dressing room is something to behold (think Bridgerton).
The food is incredible. Our guests continuously complimented the food all day. We would thoroughly recommend the Cornish Pasties for the evening food choice. These come from Bude and everyone was really impressed with the quality and range of flavours available.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone. It was the perfect day for us.
My husband and I had a 2-day wedding at Grittleton House and from start to finish Vanessa and Nelson were incredible. In the lead up to the wedding they worked with us to ensure every detail was taken care of. Over the course of the 2 days, Nelson was there at every turn with any questions and charmed every guest. He was truly a light. The staff behind the bar was also incredible, they made sure every little thing was taken care of with no stress and lended a helping hand wherever needed. Everyone at our wedding also complimented on how amazing the food was and how it was one of the most beautiful venues they had ever been to. Highly recommend.
Beautiful venue for a wedding! My sister got married here in July and it was truly wonderful. The grounds are absolutely stunning as well as the rooms to sleep in and change in when getting ready on the morning of the wedding. The venue enabled a truly magical day!

We had the perfect wedding day at Grittleton House. The venue is incredibly beautiful and you can choose from a range of rooms and spaces for the different parts of the day so that it works for you.
The venue hire includes support with planning, setting up and managing the day, helping to make sure everything runs smoothly. This was a huge help and took a lot of the pressure off us when planning the day.
The food and drink was amazing, with huge portions and great staff. We are still getting compliments from guests about the canapés and meal!
Another huge benefit of the venue is that is has onsite accommodation, which means that guests don’t need to travel at the end of the night. The rooms in the main house are beautiful and there is plenty of room in the stable block. We also booked out all of the rooms in the village at the Manor Farm and Neeld Arms B&Bs, which are just a short walk away.
Grittleton House is not a budget venue, but for the quality of the venue, food and service, we felt it was excellent value for money.
Grittleton House is an absolutely beautiful venue in a stunning location. The team of staff are incredible. We felt like the house was our own, and the team part of our wedding party. Nothing was too much to ask and attention to detail was second to none. 100% recommend this venue.
This is an amazing place. I was a wedding guest last Friday and loved everything about Grittleton House - the house, the gardens, the food, the bar... The staff was very professional despite their young age. I could see that my friends getting married were able to ask for many adaptations to their tasting, which was really nice.
I slept at the Stables, which weren't bad lodging at all.

We had the most perfect day.
We fell in love with Grittleton as soon as we drove up the drive back in Jan 2020. Unbeknownst to us our chosen date of October 2020 wouldn’t go ahead. Emma made each postponement (we had a few) seamless. It could have been a very stressful time, but Emma & the owners kept us updated throughout lockdown.
When our time finally come in April 2023 the house was even shiner than before with newly renovated rooms.
They made you feel like it’s your home for the day. We had a lot of out-of-town guests and they all commented on how amazing the house was.
Nelson & the team were fantastic, they answered all questions & were on hand to help with our 11-month-old daughter who was napping in her buggy they kept an eye on her whilst the speeches had begun & informed us when she was awake.
We would highly recommend this venue to any newly engaged couples. Not only is the house beautiful but the knowledge Emma has to help you to plan your perfect wedding is invaluable.

I had my wedding here in May and I could not recommend it enough. The whole house is stunning and very well maintained along with the rooms in the main house that are beautifully renovated. Throughout our whole experience of booking up to the wedding day Emma was very organised and on hand over email which made the process easy. on the final run through meeting Emma was very good at advising how much drinks to include and what wasn't necessary etc and best timings based on experience. Our tasting evening was also fab we loved the food and a great chance to try everything.
On the day all the staff were perfect, we even had a mix up by a guest but Emma and Nelson fixed it smoothly and quickly so my husband didn't have to worry. Nelson was also super helpful on the day, calming and directing us both on the best things to do and where to be. The food was great, we mixed and matched menu's which allowed us to chose what worked for us. On the morning of Emma directed all my suppliers so I didn't have to deal with anything. A lovely little touch at the end of our wedding too was slices of cake being left in our room as we didn't get any during the day.
Overall everything was amazing about Grittleton and meant we had the best wedding day with our guests commenting how much they loved the venue and enjoyed walking around the gardens.
We got married at Grittleton House on the 25th of May 2023 and wow did it impress. From the moment we 1st visited to the day of our wedding Grittleton did not disappoint. All of our guests were suitably wowed and commented how beautiful it was. Emma the wedding planner was amazing throughout, she kept us informed, responded to questions very quickly and explained everything throughout. Grittleton House is a wonderful wedding venue in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. As a wedding photographer I've seen many venues, but Grittleton House is really something special. The landscaped gardens, grand interiors and impressive architecture create a wonderfully romantic setting. I can't wait to return very soon.

Grittleton House is simply magical. It’s been one month since our wedding here and I still can’t believe how lucky we were to find such a perfect venue. From the moment we drove down the breathtaking driveway and saw the House in all its glory, the feeling that Rory and I got could not be matched anywhere else. It was our very own castle perfect for a Scottish winter wedding and especially appealing to a Harry Potter fan such as myself! My main criteria when looking for where to get married was somewhere with beautiful stairs where I could live out my Beauty and the Beast, Belle waking down the stairs, childhood fantasy. Grittleton House has the most beautiful stairs I have ever seen and the photos are simply gorgeous. The whole interior of the house is stunning. You could spend days gazing up at the ceilings and every time we visited, I saw something else which made me fall in love with it all over again. You have your free choice of all the rooms and we stayed the night before and the night of in the most amazing rooms upstairs. It felt like it was ours for those 2 days and our guests could not believe how beautiful it was.
The food was delicious and the drinks and bar had all my favourites, served quickly and efficiently. The staff are amazing here; Emma and her team are fantastic and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They give you the freedom to plan your day how you wish whilst also being extremely helpful- especially when we had to make some last minute tweaks!
It was worth every single penny we spent on it and I only wish that we could do it all over again!

It really was the perfect venue for our day and you and the staff were so flexible with our requirements and the style of day we wanted. A special thanks to Nelson who was extremely patient on both the set up day and the wedding day itself - even at the end of the wedding when he was trying to help me have the last few inebriated guests leave! He was on hand for every little request which made a lot of tasks so much easier.

We had our wedding at Grittleton House and it was the most magical day. All the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable day for everyone without any stress. From start to finish the day ran smoothly. The food was amazing, every plate came out hot and the food presentation was incredible. Many guests loved the character of the building which made it even more special & magical, stating it was like being at Hogwarts School due to the changing around of furniture every time you came out of one room into another. All the staff that work here made this a day to remember. Our daughter was quite poorly on the day but they all rallied around and turned a sofa into a bed and watched over her so we knew she was safe. My wife got ready in a room upstairs which they designed specifically for the bridal party to get ready in. If you want a magical day to remember and something to talk about in years to come then I would recommend having your wedding here. You will not be disappointed!
