Coltsfoot Country Retreat

This converted barn wedding venue is nestled in 40 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. Boasting charming traditional features as well as a neutral style, this venue provides a stunning backdrop for your bespoke wedding.

Being an exclusive use venue and licenced for civil ceremonies and partnerships, Coltsfoot Barn offers ultimate privacy for you and your guests and can host your wedding in its entirety. Alongside their dedicated wedding coordinator and an experienced team, you can expect every detail to be executed perfectly, matching your wishes and preferences.

About

Originally a working livery, renovations started in 1998 and by 2000 the estate opened as a small, successful hotel and restaurant.

After deciding to dedicate the estate primarily to weddings in 2016, they have since built up an exquisite reputation of exemplary service comprising of a small, friendly and professional team. Focussing all their time on providing the ultimate wedding experience, the team prioritise quality customer service to ensure their guests have the most memorable stay.

This stunning boutique venue has been lovingly maintained and improvements on the barn structures empathetically completed.

Main Barn

This versatile space features exposed wooden beams and high ceilings, with traditional features and a contemporary twist, it's the perfect space to host your wedding in its entirety.

Civil Ceremony Capacity - 120 guests (further 20 standing)

Wedding Breakfast Capacity - 120 guests

Reception Capacity - 180 guests

Reception drinks and canapés can be held in the beautiful courtyard which also makes for a great photograph spot.

Catering

At Coltsfoot Barn your wedding breakfast is tailored to you as the talented kitchen team take into consideration any dietary requirements and preferences.

Providing a wide range of delicious dishes including a lavish three-course wedding breakfast, reception and evening canapés and hog roast options, the accomplished team can cater to you. The canapés on offer include burgers in buns, fish and chips and curry pots with rice, all accommodating a variety of taste buds. Regular menu tasting sessions are available for brides and grooms to sample their array of options.

Accommodation

Set within a beautiful courtyard there are 15 luxury suites for you and your guests to conveniently relax in. The suites are light, elegant and traditionally furnished as well as featuring classic exposed beams and neutral tones. Every room is equipped with the modern amenities you would expect, including stylish baths and showers.

A buffet breakfast is served the following morning in the Main Barn for you and your guests.

    Hidden in the Hertfordshire countryside, but very accessible, Coltsfoot provided a perfect venue for our daughter's wedding.
    The barn has not lost any character in its conversion and much attention has been given to detail, making a beautiful and welcoming space to party.The main area overlooks rolling fields and big skies, the bar is comfortable and cosy with the facility for an open fire, and the courtyard is very attractive with its open sided marquee, well manicured lawns and fish pool.

    The staff, led by Charlotte, are welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic both in planning and ensuring all runs smoothly on the day. The chef provided excellent food and service was both friendly and slick. Coltsfoot are happy for you to make the venue 'your own' with flowers and decorations and ensure that all is set up to your wishes.
    Many of our guests commented both during the day and afterwards on what a super venue Coltsfoot is, how delightful the staff were and how delicious the food. Add that to the photographic opportunities it provides and how good the breakfast is makes it a wonderful venue to choose for a special occasion.

    Stayed here for a family wedding, absolutely nothing I can fault! Amazing venue. The food was some of the best I have had at a wedding and the overall service and surroundings were amazing. This is well worth a stay even if not attending a wedding, a great place to escape.

    5 stars are nowhere near enough of a rating for this fantastic venue. I knew from the minute we looked round it was the perfect venue for me and my husband to be. We booked immediately after viewing and from then on we were looked after incredibly well by the whole team at CF. I gave myself just over a year to plan my wedding and in that time I built a relationship with the staff and was really excited every time we had a meeting there. Our day was literally perfect and it was all down to Charlotte and her team. Richard and Saskia the day before and morning of the wedding were great and couldn't have done enough for us.
