About

Butley Priory was originally built in the early 1300s. It originally comprised of a collection of buildings, spanning 20 acres of land, all enclosed with in a stone wall. Over the years it played host to royals and noble men and women. However, being such a large manor, it slowly began to fall into disrepair.

In the early 20th century, Dr Montague Rendell took it upon himself to restore the property to its former glory. In 2016 Butley Priory was named by Vogue Online as one of the best Airbnb wedding venues in the world.

Facilities

Though everyone gets married for the same reason, how they go about it is often quite different. This is why Butlery Priory offer a choice of ceremony locations that cater to different needs.

Drawing Room

Spend the day with your nearest and dearest in Butley Priory's Drawing room, ideal for small celebrations. Featuring homely, vintage décor, it perfectly captures feelings of warmth and intimacy.

Great Hall

For those who would rather invite many friends and family to witness and celebrate their special union, the Great Hall provides space enough for all. With tall ceilings and rustic wooden beams, its stunning interior attracts many couples.

Garden Marquee

For those that really struggle to strike people of the guest list, you'll have the option of erecting a garden marquee, giving your event a vintage summer festival vibe, and bumping your potential guest list up considerably.

Catering

With their highly trained in-house catering team, you won't have to spend hours looking through brochures and trying endless amounts of samples to find the chefs who can serve up the perfect wedding breakfast.

Using local sourced, fresh produce, they can provide dining experiences that range from formal sit down meals, to a relaxed standing buffet. As well as this, you can make use of their extensive wine list and fully stocked bar, to make sure every one of your guests has the perfect tipple to go with their food.

Accommodation

Within the Priory itself, there is space enough for eleven of your wedding party to stay the night. You'll feel so much more reassured knowing you're never more than a few steps away from a comfy bed.

Each room offers pure cotton bed linen, and high quality down duvets for a guaranteed great night's sleep, and there's the option for en-suite facilities.

For those looking to stay the night but can't find the room inside, they'll be able to make use of Butley Priory's on site glamping facilities. With a range of glamorous tents and tipis available it wont feel like regular camping at all.
