History

Dating back nearly half a millennium, the estate on which the house is set was given to the family by Henry VIII in 1547 in honour of his deceased third wife Jane Seymour, The house's construction began over a century later following the Restoration of 1660.

Finished in 1710, the original mansion was apparently massive. After being reduced in size in 1821 to the estate you see today, the house continues to hold many historic and artistic heirlooms of the early Seymours through to the present Duke of Somerset.

Facilities

Set in a fifty-acre estate to wander through and enjoy, Bradley House presents a wide range of facilities and entertainment options. The Italian Room boasts a capacity of 80 for a ceremony (with disabled access), and the outdoor marquee is capable of hosting a wedding breakfast for 200, so the venue is suited to wedding parties of varying size.

Exclusive access is offered for your wedding day alongside free parking for all guests. For entertainment, guests will be welcome to try their hand at clay pigeon shooting or croquet, enjoy quiet time in the library, or a dip in the heated outdoor swimming pool.

The Coach House is a splendid facility for your reception party, with a dancefloor and fully-equipped bar, hosting a maximum of 150 - children and obedient dogs welcome.

Catering

As cooking staff for the Duke of Somerset, the in-house caterers are some of the best in the country. With over a decade of experience, plus a five-star rating to show for it, the team will produce distinguished fare from finest local ingredients. Menu tasting is offered prior to your wedding day to ensure both you and your guests will be satisfied.
