About
Overlooking the River Sheppey in the Somerset countryside, the Grade II*-listed early Georgian house was originally built in 1732, and over the years functioned as both a brewery and a brick company before passing into private ownership and undergoing extensive repair and restoration in the 1950s and '60s.
Bowlish House has been operating as a successful fine-dining restaurant and hotel since 1964. Two stylish rooms are available to host unique wedding receptions - the Garden Conservatory Room and the Restaurant. When opened together, these two rooms can comfortably seat up to 60 guests for an exceptional dining experience, or couples can utilise just one of the rooms for smaller, more intimate celebrations.
The hotel's experienced professional staff will always meet with each couple well before the big day to discuss timings, menu options, decorations and other details. Couples are allowed to bring in their own suppliers to enhance the venue's beautiful interior, or Bowlish House's staff will be more than happy to help you decorate.
The venue has a stunning bridal suite, and a further five luxurious bedrooms readily available if a few wedding guests wish to stay overnight. These sophisticated ensuite rooms are full of character, are finished to the highest of standards, and include every modern facility you could possibly need!
