Aurum designer-jewellers specialise in creating one-of-a-kind contemporary jewellery in platinum, gold and diamonds. Based in Worthing in West Sussex, the team have a wealth of experience and will work closely with you to create a one of a kind piece for you and your partner.

Aurum's founder Andrew Leggett had no idea where his career would lead after he left school at 18. It was by chance he took a summer job at a local jewellers and he never looked back since. From then, he wrote to top jewellery designer John Donald for a place working in his London workshop. It was here he learnt the true craft of jewellery making as he made designs for royals and celebrities.

In 1985 he set up Aurum designer- jewellers to be closer to family and in 2001 he expanded into larger premises and took on two craftsmen. The shop doubles as a workshop and you will always be greeted by friendly goldsmiths.

Bespoke Wedding Rings

Custom-made wedding rings and engagement rings make up a large proportion of Aurum’s output. Every ring, however simple, is individually created for the person who will wear it. This means you have far more possibilities available to you than you would find at a normal high street jeweller that sells standard factory-made rings.

Process

The first step is to make an appointment to visit Aurum’s premises for a design consultation. The goldsmith will start by listening to any ideas you might already have. You’ll be offered as much expert advice and as many suggestions as it takes to come up with a design that is perfect for you, your budget and lifestyle.

If you have an engagement ring your wedding ring will be designed so that the two will complement one another perfectly.

You might like to have some diamonds in your wedding ring. If so, this is something else to talk about. It can be nice to match the size and quality of any small diamonds in your engagement ring. If your engagement ring does not sit well with a straight wedding ring you might want to consider a “fitted” wedding ring to interlock with it. This is yet another aspect to discuss at the consultation.

Once the exact specifications for your ring have been arrived at, a price can be calculated. This will be based on the costs of materials and labour that would be needed to create it. These costs fluctuate, and the price you pay is fixed at the point that a firm order is placed with a 25% deposit. This is when the materials are purchased.
