About

The family-run Angel Cake Company was founded in 2007 by mother-and-daughter team Pauline Hamriding and Nicci Campbell. Emma Hamriding joined the company a year afterwards, making over 20 years' experience creating gorgeous celebration cakes.

Besides lovely cakes, the Poundbury shop organises cake-making workshops, helping aspiring home bakers to refine their skills. Angel were finalists for the 2016 Wedding Industry Awards, and their creations have won accolades for Taste Of The West 2015.

The Cakes

The most popular type of cake is the 'American Stacked', tiered cakes you may be familiar with. The Angel Cake Company create a whole array of these with a gorgeous range of award-winning flavours, fillings and decorations; colourful sugarcraft flowers, fruit and real flowers, extravagant painted icings, edible pearl beads, iced 'draping' and swagging, lace details and much, much more.

All the cakes at the company are made by hand from scratch using the finest ingredients - no preservatives or unnatural rubbish!

Other Cakes

Always one step ahead of the latest trends, the Angel Cake Company also offer cupcakes, a fantastic cost-effective alternative or an addition to the centrepiece of your big day. These come in the same flavours as listed above, and can be presented in towers.

Mini-cakes are another great choice. These intricate little beauties are hand-made and individually iced, so are ideally suited as attractive and delicious wedding favours in addition to your centrepiece wedding cake. Cheese wedding cakes are also available!

Consultations

The Angel Cake Company really know what they are doing when it comes to designing and producing your wedding cake. During the initial meeting, typically held in the shop in Poundbury, you will discuss the various elements of your wedding day starting with date, venue, and any pre-determined colour scheme or theme, and you will get to try samples of some of the flavours of sponge.

Your designer will then go away and draw up a plan including costs so that you can decide whether this is the right cake for you!

Each and every wedding is different, of course, so the best way to get accurate costs is to get in touch and book a consultation. As a general guide, however:-

• Two-tier cakes - from £275
• Three-tier cakes - from £450
• Mini-cakes - from £10 each
• Cupcakes - from £2 each

Delivery And Setup

The Angel Cake Company can provide delivery and setup at extra cost within their allocated delivery radius. It's more than worth doing this as it would make things a lot easier knowing a professional that made the cake will be setting it up properly on the day.

As an additional service to enhance presentation on the day, the company also offer centrepiece cakestands and plates for hire.
