History

There is indeed plenty of history to talk about when it comes to Dillington House! This fascinating Grade II*-listed E-plan mansion was constructed during the 1500s, and underwent a number of renovations through the 17th and 19th centuries. The house has been the residence of a number of high-profile knights of the realm, most notably Lord North, who served as Britain's Prime Minister during the infamous American War of Independence in the 1770s.

The Tudor house was significantly remodelled in an extensive programme of works in the 19th century, during which much of its surviving Jacobean styling was added.

Today Dillington House benefits from the addition of The Hyde, a brilliant example of modern architecture. It currently operates throughout the year as an events, wedding and conference venue.

Facilities

Wedding celebrations at Dillington House can either take place with exclusive use of the main house, or as a separate function within the stunning Hyde building.

Exclusive Weddings In The House

If you hire Dillington House exclusively, you will have full access to rooms within the building, the luscious landscaped gardens and also the bedrooms. The house can seat up to 120 guests in three separate dining rooms for a formal reception meal.

After your wedding breakfast is over, you and your guests can relax in the main bar, or filter through to adjacent rooms. Then move on to The Hanning Room in order to get your evening reception party underway!

The Garden Room

Couples who don't wish to hire the house exclusively have the alternative option to host their wedding reception in the spectacular and modern Hyde building, in The Garden Room. This space is able to cater up to 75 guests.

Ceremonies And The Orangery

Accommodation

Dillington House offers overnight accommodation in 40 ensuite bedrooms. These comfortable and well-appointed rooms are able to accommodate up to 73 of your guests, and come in a variety of double, single and twin configurations.

The rooms are spread across Dillington House's three principal buildings, including the Main House (forming part of the exclusive hire package), the 19th-century Mews and the new Hyde building. If you book six or more ensuite bedrooms in addition to those in the Main House, you will be freely entitled to spend your wedding night in the luxurious bridal suite, along with a tasty breakfast.

Catering

Dillington House showcases an in-house catering team, who have a great deal of experience in cooking up exquisite cuisine. Offering a wide range of mouthwatering dishes at competitive prices, there is also the option of presenting an evening buffet, hog-roast or barbecue to add an extra element to your evening reception party.
